New Delhi: The Central Depository Services Ltd (CDSL) has reported a net profit of Rs 63.77 crore in Quarter 3 ended in December 2021.

With this figure the profit of CDSL rose to 48.23 percent from Rs 43.02 crore in December 2020.

Meanwhile, EBITDA stands at Rs. 87.42 crore in December 2021 up 49.28 percent from Rs. 58.56 crore in December 2020.

CDSL EPS has also increased to Rs. 6.10 in December 2021 from Rs. 4.12 in December 2020.

Notably, 91 lakh demat accounts were opened in Q3 which the highest ever quarterly addition and Value of Securities in Demat Custody increased to 36.94 lk cr as on 31 Dec.

In December last year, the CDSL became the first company listed depository in India to hold Five crore plus (50 million plus) active demat accounts.

CDSL maintains and services 5 crore Demat accounts of Investors or Beneficial Owners (BOs) spread across India. These BOs are serviced by CDSL's 580+ Depository Participants (DPs) from over 20,500 locations.

Major shareholders of CDSL include BSE, Standard Chartered Bank, PPFAS Mutual Fund, HDFC Bank and LIC.
